You sometimes see adverts for amazing ceramic heaters which are incredibly efficient.
Efficiency is defined as the power output divided by the power input. (where the power in Watts is the energy per second).
An electric heater converts electrical energy into heat energy and it doesnt matter whether the element is ceramic or wire the amount of power output of an electric heater is always the same as the power it takes from the mains supply: ie the efficiency is always equal to 1. The only thing which will make your room heat up
more quickly is by having a higher powered heater. Any type of heater will cost the same to run as any other of the same power output.
