And this may seem REALLY PEDANTIC but it's good to educate people. The thing which goes in a torch or CD player etc is not
correctly called a battery but a cell. Each common type of cell is usually 1.5 volts, big ones, small ones each contain more or less chemicals so
they last different times, but the same chemicals give the same voltage.
a BATTERY means more than one cell connected. You may sometimes use those little rectangular batteries which may be 6 V or 9 V. electric bell batteries are
4.5 V note that all these are multiples of 1.5 and inside a 6 V battery is made up of four 1.5 V cells.
So sorry if its 1.5 V it's a cell!
