RAISING THE TEMPERATURE FROM 20 TO 40 degC IS DOUBLING IT
WRONG!!!
It is true that 40 as a number is double 20, but we are not doubling the temperature.
The Celcius scale is just a convenient one for us. There is nothing special about 0 and 100 unless you happen to be water! You can have things
much colder than 0 deg C. In fact there IS a bottom temperature - it is called ABSOLUTE ZERO, or zero on the Kelvin scale. The temperature is -273 deg C.
so therefore in terms of REAL temperature, 20 deg C is 293 Kelvin and 40 degC is 313 K. So to go from 293 to 313 you are certainly NOT doubling the temperature.
