WHEN A CAR DRIVES AT A CONSTANT SPEED THE ENERGY FROM THE FUEL IS TURNED INTO KINETIC ENERGY
WELL YES AND NO BUT MAINLY NO!
Kinetic energy is energy of movement. If the car is moving at a constant speed then it has a certain value of kinetic energy. If the energy from the fuel went to kinetic energy then the car would go faster (but that was not the question). So where does it go? Well most of it goes to moving the air through which the car is driving (causing the air resistance) so we could say that kinetic energy is produced from the fuel, but it is kinetic energy of air and not the car. Of course a lot of the energy goes to heat in the engine, tyres and road and a little to sound.
